mirror-rorrim

This year, the year 12 group production is a play called "Mirror Mirror" and this is what it is about;

"Mirror, Mirror explores the inner life of a girl with an eating disorder and the impact this has on those around her. This thought-provoking play tackles a sensitive issue in a theatrically dynamic way. It invites audiences into the topsy-turvy world of a circus where everything is smoke and mirrors and nothing is as it seems. The play is full of strong visual images and powerful dialogue, as well as moments of comedy.It incorporates a wide range of performance, dance and music styles – from clowning to soliloquies, from ballet to belly dancing and from pop to tribal drumming."

At first I didn't really want to do this play because my mind was set on doing a play called "Rhinocerous", but i must admit it has started to grow on me. I think that in order to do this play well, everyone needs to have a lot more knowledge about anorexia - or eating dosorders, and then we will really be able to really understand the characters in a much better way. I also think that the fact it has different aspects of theatre in it, means that our overall performance mark has the ability to be really high - that's if we can get different types of movement looking good.
